Brenda Belohoubek
Brenda Belohoubek is a multi-faceted artist whose versatile crossover singing has been heard in concerts, festivals, and various productions nationwide and internationally, including those at the International Festival of the Aegean in Syros and Athens, Greece, Detroit Opera Theatre, Opera America, Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center, Avery Fisher Hall, and Carnegie Hall.
Her glistening coloratura and warm, lyrical voice have earned her a variety of roles, including Kate (Madama Butterfly), Musetta (La Bohème), Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro), Bastienne (Bastien und Bastienne), Euridice (Orfeo ed Euridice), Josephine (HMS Pinafore), Sophie (Werther), and both Frasquita and Micaëla (Carmen).
In addition to opera, Brenda excels in singing choral, sacred, jazz, musical theatre, and contemporary styles. She is the lead singer of the Max Baxter Band, featuring Roots, Rock, and Soul, and enjoys performing new works, having premiered the role of Lisa in Robert Butt's Cask of Amontillado in 2014 and was a featured soloist during the 2016-17 season for the Helix New Music Concert Series at Mason Gross.
Brenda frequently sings with various musical groups and houses of worship in the Greater New York area. Previously, she was a Young Artist in Residence with Sonaré, part of the Minuetto Music Festival for several years, and frequently engaged with Clarum Sonum and their select ensemble O.N.E. She also performed for a decade with The Village Carolers, a Victorian caroling group whose first CD featured Brenda as a soloist.
Brenda's interests and passion also include the education, health, and well-being of others within her community. In addition to performing, she teaches music lessons and coaches individuals via BB Studio, a virtual growing music and life coaching studio for voice, flute, piano, mindfulness, meditation, HeartMath, life coaching, career coaching, performance anxiety, ACT, and executive functioning coaching. Outside of music, Brenda is an ESL instructor with VIPKID and is frequently selected for modeling engagements. Previous experiences include being the former Head of the Electives Department and music and drama teacher at Fusion Academy in Englewood, the vocal adjunct instructor at Ramapo and Indian Hills Regional High Schools, and a vocal and piano instructor at Music and Arts in Wayne, New Jersey.

Brenda is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Sports and Performance Psychology from the University of Arizona Global Campus and is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. She holds a Master's of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University, a Master's of Music in Opera Performance from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, and a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from William Paterson University. She is a certified K-12 Music Teacher in New Jersey and an internationally certified TEFL/TESOL instructor. Additional credentials include being an internationally-certified NLP and life Coach via the ABNLP, an internationally certified HeartMath Trainer and Practitioner, and a nationally Certified Anxiety Informed Professional, Certified Mindfulness Informed Professional, and Certified Trauma Professional via Evergreen Certifications.

Brenda's research interests lie in developing wellness for musicians and other performing artists. She specializes in coaching the performing arts population, HeartMath training, and developing wellness programs for them to follow independently in addition to 1-1 coaching. She is also available for commissioned work with artists and teachers working with individuals navigating performance anxiety both on and off the stage in group and individual corporate, educational, or private settings for presentations, workshops, or coaching.
